Plasma Shower

Plasma Shower in Gainesville, FL

A Physician-Led, Surface-Focused Plasma Procedure

Plasma Shower is a surface-focused aesthetic procedure performed with PLEXR PLUS technology. The device creates plasma through a controlled electrical arc between the device tip and the skin.

At Mooi, treatment begins with an individualized consultation with your provider. She will evaluate your medical history, skin characteristics, previous procedures, current concerns and aesthetic goals before determining whether Plasma Shower or another aesthetic option may be appropriate. Not every patient, skin concern or treatment area is appropriate for this procedure.

What Is Plasma Shower?

Plasma Shower uses PLEXR PLUS technology in a surface-focused treatment format. Unlike a traditional laser, the device uses electrical energy to ionize gases in the air and generate a controlled plasma arc.

The procedure differs from more targeted Plexr Plasma Pen treatments in the way the device is applied and the intensity selected. Your provider determines the treatment area, device settings and procedure plan following an individualized skin evaluation.

The terms “Plasma Shower” and “surface-focused plasma treatment” describe the procedure offered at Mooi. They do not represent a separate FDA-cleared indication for the device.

Areas and Skin Concerns That May Be Evaluated

Depending on your skin, medical history and your provider’s evaluation, Plasma Shower may be discussed for selected concerns involving:

Non-surgical eyelid tightening
Dull-looking skin
Acne and acne scarring
Uneven-looking skin texture
Mild fine lines
Enlarged-looking pores
Dry or dehydrated-looking skin
Selected facial treatment areas

These concerns may also be associated with other skin conditions that require a different procedure or additional evaluation. Your provider will determine whether Plasma Shower, another aesthetic service or no treatment should be considered.

Is Plasma Shower Appropriate for Everyone?

No. Clinical appropriateness depends on your medical history, skin characteristics, current medications and supplements, previous cosmetic procedures, history of pigmentation or scarring, active skin irritation or infection, implanted medical devices, pregnancy or breastfeeding status, proposed treatment area and relevant risks or contraindications.

Based on this evaluation, your provider may recommend Plasma Shower, additional assessment, medical clearance or a different aesthetic option.

Your Plasma Shower treatment, step by step

Before Treatment

Your appointment begins with an evaluation of your skin and the proposed treatment area. Your provider or a member of Mooi’s clinical team will explain the procedure, potential risks, limitations, alternatives and aftercare requirements.

Your skin will be cleansed and prepared before the procedure. Whether topical numbing is appropriate will be determined based on the treatment area and your individualized procedure plan.

During Treatment
The PLEXR PLUS handpiece is moved across the selected treatment area using clinician-selected settings. You may experience warmth, tingling or a light prickling sensation. Appointment length depends on the size and location of the treatment area.

After Treatment

Temporary redness, warmth, dryness, tenderness or sensitivity may occur. The appearance and duration of these effects vary according to the treatment area, procedure settings and individual response. Mooi will provide individualized skincare, activity and sun-exposure guidance following treatment. Contact Mooi if you experience an unexpected reaction or have concerns during recovery.
Follow-Up and Treatment Planning
There is no standard number of Plasma Shower procedures appropriate for every patient. Follow-up recommendations depend on the treatment area, skin characteristics, procedure settings, response to the initial treatment and individual aesthetic goals.

During follow-up, your provider may evaluate the treated area, address questions or concerns and determine whether another procedure, continued monitoring or a different aesthetic option should be considered.

The number of sessions, degree of visible change and duration of any aesthetic result vary. No specific outcome can be guaranteed.
