Physician-Led Laboratory Review and Clinical Evaluation
Mooi offers individualized laboratory review and testing consultations led by Dr. Tracey Botha.
Your appointment begins with a review of your medical history, current medications and supplements, previous testing, current concerns, and wellness goals. Dr. Botha may review existing laboratory results or recommend additional testing when she determines that it is clinically appropriate.
Not every patient requires advanced or specialty testing. Recommendations are based on individualized evaluation, patient screening, and clinical judgment.
What Is an Advanced Lab Review?
An advanced lab review involves examining available laboratory findings within the broader context of your medical history and clinical evaluation.
Depending on your individual circumstances, Dr. Botha may review or discuss testing related to:
- General health markers
- Hormone levels
- Thyroid function
- Blood sugar and insulin markers
- Cholesterol and lipid markers
- Liver and kidney function
- Nutrient status
- Other laboratory information relevant to your evaluation
Dr. Botha is a Prodrome Elite Provider
Dr. Botha is a Prodrome Elite Provider and offers access to Prodrome testing as part of her physician-led wellness practice.
When relevant, Prodrome testing may be discussed during an individualized consultation. Dr. Botha will explain the purpose and limitations of the testing before it is ordered.
Whether testing is appropriate and how the findings are considered in clinical decision-making are determined by Dr. Botha following evaluation.
Prodrome testing does not independently establish a diagnosis, determine eligibility for a particular treatment, or guarantee a specific clinical recommendation or patient outcome.
Is Additional Testing Always Required?
No. Dr. Botha may be able to review recent laboratory results from another healthcare professional when those records are available and clinically relevant.
Additional testing may be considered when it could provide information relevant to the individual evaluation. Before testing is ordered, Dr. Botha will explain:
- Why the test is being considered
- What information it may provide
- Its limitations
- Applicable costs
- How the results may be used as part of the broader clinical evaluation
Testing does not independently establish a diagnosis, determine eligibility for a particular medication, or guarantee that treatment will be recommended.
What Types of Testing May Be Discussed?
Depending on your medical history and clinical evaluation, testing may include:
- Standard laboratory panels
- Hormone-related testing
- Metabolic markers
- Nutritional testing
- Thyroid-related testing
- Specialty wellness testing
- Prodrome testing
- Other testing determined appropriate by Dr. Botha
Not every test is appropriate for every patient. Some specialty or wellness tests may have limitations and may not be FDA-approved for diagnosing or guiding treatment for a particular medical condition.
Reviewing Your Results
When results are available, Dr. Botha will review the findings with you and explain their relevance and limitations. Laboratory findings are considered together with:
- Your medical history
- Current medications and supplements
- Previous diagnoses and care
- Available medical records
- Current questions and concerns
- Other clinical information
No single laboratory value or specialty test should be interpreted independently as determining a diagnosis or treatment plan.
Cost of the treatment
Pricing determined by tests selected.
Frequently asked questions
Can I bring laboratory results from another physician?
Yes. You may provide recent laboratory results and relevant medical records for Dr. Botha to review. Whether additional testing is needed will be determined following evaluation.
Will advanced testing identify the cause of my concerns?
No individual test can necessarily identify the cause of a concern or independently determine a diagnosis. Results are interpreted together with your medical history, existing records, and other relevant clinical information.
Does everyone receive the same laboratory panel?
No. Testing recommendations are individualized. Some patients may not require additional testing.
Will testing automatically lead to treatment?
No. Testing does not guarantee that medication, hormone therapy, supplements, or another service will be recommended. Dr. Botha will discuss any appropriate next steps after reviewing the available clinical information.
