What is the Climax Shot?
The Climax Shot is an elective, non-surgical procedure that may involve platelet-rich plasma, also known as PRP.
PRP is prepared from a small sample of the patient’s own blood. When the procedure is clinically appropriate, the platelet-rich portion may be used during a physician-directed intimate wellness procedure.
Before treatment, Dr. Botha will explain the proposed procedure, intended clinical purpose, relevant risks, possible side effects, limitations, alternatives and follow-up requirements.
How is clinical appropriateness determined?
Dr. Botha may consider:
- Medical and surgical history
- Current medications and supplements
- Previous gynecologic or urologic care
- Current intimate wellness concerns
- Pregnancy status, when applicable
- Active infections or medical conditions
- Blood disorders or medications affecting clotting
- Potential risks and contraindications
- Whether additional evaluation or referral is appropriate

When the procedure is recommended, your appointment may include blood collection, preparation of the PRP, local numbing and clinician-directed injection.
The proposed treatment area and procedure details will be reviewed with you before treatment. Appointment length may vary based on the individualized procedure plan.
Temporary swelling, sensitivity, redness, bruising, spotting or discomfort may occur. Dr. Botha will provide individualized aftercare instructions and explain when to contact Mooi with a question or concern.
Follow-up recommendations depend on the procedure performed and your individual clinical needs.
During follow-up, Dr. Botha may review your experience, questions, possible side effects and whether continued monitoring or additional care should be considered.

No. O-Shot® is a registered trademark associated with a specific licensed procedure. Mooi offers its own physician-directed intimate wellness evaluation and procedure.
Does every patient receive the procedure?
No. A consultation does not guarantee that treatment will be recommended. Dr. Botha may recommend additional evaluation, coordinated care, another clinical option or no procedure at this time.
How many appointments are recommended?
There is no standard schedule appropriate for every patient. Any follow-up or additional procedure recommendations are determined individually.
Can the procedure guarantee changes in sexual function?
No. Individual experiences vary, and no improvement in sensation, lubrication, orgasm, erectile function, comfort or other intimate wellness concern can be guaranteed.
