At Mooi Medical Spa & Laser Center, treatment begins with an individualized evaluation and patient screening. Dr. Botha or the treating clinician will review your medical history, current concerns, previous care, relevant safety considerations and personal goals before determining whether shockwave therapy is appropriate.
Clinical appropriateness, the treatment area and the recommended number of sessions are determined individually.
What Should I Expect?
During your appointment, the handheld device is applied to the area identified in your treatment plan. The device delivers acoustic pressure waves according to clinician-selected settings.
Session length, treatment considerations and any applicable aftercare instructions will be explained before your procedure. Individual experiences vary, and no specific outcome is guaranteed.
Follow-Up and Treatment Review
Follow-up recommendations depend on your individualized treatment plan.
During subsequent appointments, the treating clinician may review your experience, any questions or concerns and whether additional sessions should be considered. The treatment plan may be continued, modified or discontinued based on clinical judgment and your individual circumstances.
