Labial Augmentation + Labiaplasty

Female patient discussing labial augmentation and labiaplasty options with a provider in a private medical spa consultation

What is Labiaplasty?

Labiaplasty is a surgical procedure that reshapes or reduces selected labial tissue. It may be considered for women experiencing discomfort, irritation, asymmetry or appearance-related concerns associated with the size or shape of the labia.

What is Labial Augmentation + Labiaplasty?

Labial augmentation and labiaplasty are two different approaches that may be considered for intimate tissue concerns. Labial augmentation adds volume to selected areas, while labiaplasty surgically reshapes or reduces labial tissue.
Changes in the appearance or fullness of the labia may occur with aging, hormonal changes, childbirth, weight changes, genetics or natural anatomy. At Mooi, labial augmentation may include a hyaluronic acid filler or Sculptra when Dr. Botha determines that an injectable approach is appropriate. Labiaplasty may be discussed when surgical reshaping or tissue reduction is being considered. Recommendations are based on your anatomy, medical history, concerns and personal goals.

Why patients choose Labial Augmentation + Labiaplasty

What can Labial Augmentation + Labiaplasty address?

Loss of labial volume
Deflated or thin appearance
Changes after childbirth
Age-related tissue changes
Asymmetry or uneven appearance
Discomfort from tissue laxity
Reduced hydration or firmness
Confidence concerns with intimate appearance
Hyaluronic acid fillers may be used to add volume to selected labial tissue. The product, amount and placement are determined by Dr. Botha following an individualized evaluation.
Temporary swelling or tenderness may occur, and the appearance of the treated area is evaluated after the tissue settles. The use of hyaluronic acid filler for labial augmentation is off-label.
Sculptra is an injectable poly-L-lactic acid product that may be considered when gradual changes in tissue volume are desired. Dr. Botha determines whether it is appropriate based on your anatomy, medical history and treatment goals.
Changes develop gradually and vary by patient. The use of Sculptra in labial tissue is off-label. Sculptra’s FDA-approved indications apply to specified facial wrinkles and cheek lines, not labial augmentation.
Treatment Process
Your appointment begins with a private consultation to review your concerns, medical history, anatomy and goals. Dr. Botha will explain the available options and determine whether augmentation, labiaplasty or another approach may be appropriate.
When labial augmentation is selected, the chosen injectable is placed in clinician-selected areas according to the individualized treatment plan. When labiaplasty is selected, Dr. Botha will explain the surgical procedure, anticipated recovery and aftercare before treatment.
What to expect
Treatment is performed in a private clinical setting with attention to patient comfort. Numbing or other comfort measures may be used depending on the procedure selected.
Temporary swelling, tenderness or bruising may occur following labial augmentation. Labiaplasty involves a longer recovery period and more detailed aftercare, which Dr. Botha will review with you.
Results & Timeline
The timing and appearance of changes depend on the procedure selected and individual response. Changes following HA filler may be evaluated after temporary swelling subsides. Sculptra-related changes develop gradually. Changes following labiaplasty are assessed as the area heals.
Downtime & Recovery
Recovery varies according to the procedure performed. Labial augmentation generally involves a shorter recovery period, although temporary swelling, tenderness or bruising may occur. Labiaplasty requires additional healing time and individualized activity restrictions. Dr. Botha will provide preparation, aftercare and follow-up instructions based on your procedure.

Cost of the treatment

Starting at $10,000.
